Jennie Dugan Fund for Children - DC

The Jennie Dugan Fund for Children was created to provide low-fee analysis and psychotherapy for children who otherwise could not afford treatment. The Fund was established in 1995 following Jennie's death at the age of 54 from cancer.

Jennie graduated in the mid-1980's from both the child and adult psychoanalysis programs offered by The Psychoanalytic Training Institute of The New York Freudian Society (now the Contemporary Freudian Society). She subsequently joined the faculty of the Institute's Child and Adolescent Psychoanalysis Program, as well as the Child and Adolescent Program of the Post Graduate Center for Mental Health. In both her personal and professional lives, Jennie was known for her integrity, compassion and gentle humor. She was held in high esteem by her colleagues, enjoyed deep and enduring friendships, and displayed a joy for life and a sense of optimism that touched all who knew her.
